Daesh (ISIS) Closes in on Baghdad Airport, Kobani – Obama Fail

Editor’s Note – The charade that is Obama’s assault on Daesh (ISIS), meant to degrade and destroy is obvious now – it is just a political ploy to get him through the midterms. Once again, Obama and team place politics ahead of policy, and sadly, American and allied national security.

In addition to the article below that shows that Daesh is ready to ruin Baghdad’s days ahead, especially the lifeline international airport, they are now poised to take Kobani in Syria on the Turkish border. The experts believe that if they take it, there will be a bloodbath amongst the refugee population if the Turks do not intercede.

The Turks are poised in a defensive front, but will they take offensive action?

Intense street fighting raged in the Syrian city of Kobani Monday as ISIS came closer to capturing a key area on the border with Turkey.
ISIS fighters planted their flag on a hill on the eastern side of Kobani, then punched through defenses to open up the route for more troops, one witness inside the city told CNN.isidypg

CNN crews on Monday also spotted what appeared to be the black flag of ISIS flying from a hilltop on the eastern side of the city. The flag was farther east into the city from one shown flying atop a building in video from Reuters and also seen by the CNN crews.

Many Kurdish forces defending the city were wounded and killed, and many ISIS fighters were also killed as clashes spread from street to street, the witness said.

The fall of the city would carry huge symbolic and strategic weight, giving ISIS sway over an uninterrupted swatch of land between the Turkish border and its self-declared capital in Raqqa, Syria, 100 kilometers (62 miles) away.

The Turkish military, which has bulked up its defenses along the border in recent days as the fighting has flared, blocked people fleeing the embattled city from crossing the border. (Read the rest here.)

America – take note, Obama needs to take ownership for all of the carnage – he earned it!

ISIL Within Shelling Range of Baghdad Airport

Gaining ground in both Iraq, Syria

By   – Washington Free Beacon

The United States appears to be losing its fight against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL or ISIS) in Iraq and Syria, experts say, as the jihadist group adapts to U.S. airstrikes and advances toward Baghdad and a strategic town on the Syrian-Turkish border.

McClatchy reported on Friday that ISIL had established an operational presence in Abu Ghraib, a town within miles of the capital Baghdad that could enable the militants to shell the Baghdad International Airport with artillery. The airport serves as a key transit point for Western embassies and houses a joint operations center with U.S. military advisers.

A Defense Department spokeswoman said there were no indications yet that ISIL had taken over Abu Ghraib.baghdad_-_airport_and_green_zone

ISIL has also made significant gains in recent days in Iraq’s western Anbar province, where it has seized the town of Hit and launched assaults on other military bases in the region. Hundreds of Iraqi soldiers have been captured, and U.S. and allied airstrikes appear to have failed to push back ISIL from its strongholds in Anbar.

In Syria, ISIL engaged in intense fighting on Monday with Kurdish forces in Kobani—a key town near the Turkish border that could grant Islamic militants new smuggling lines for fighters and supplies if they control it. U.S. airstrikes have also failed to relieve ISIL’s siege of Kobani.

Additionally, the Wall Street Journal reported on Sunday that ISIL fighters have adopted new tactics to evade airstrikes and retain control of territory, including avoiding the use of cell phones and radios, removing their leaders and weapons from bases in Syria, and blending in with the civilian population.

Wayne Hsieh, an associate professor at the U.S. Naval Academy and a former State Department official who served in Iraq, said in an interview that “things are not going well.”

”The problem at the end of the day is how seriously [President Obama] takes this,” he said.

”Is this the president’s response to political pressure placed on him after the execution of [American journalist James] Foley, or does he really want to degrade and destroy the Islamic State? If he really does want to degrade and destroy the Islamic State, I think you’re going to have to see escalation, but the situation on the ground militarily is so problematic.”

Hsieh said he did not believe Baghdad was close to falling to ISIL, but added that sustained attacks on the airport there would pose a serious threat to supplies for Western embassies and the U.S. military personnel that are stationed there. He questioned why the United States had not provided arms to the YPG, the Syrian Kurdish forces battling ISIL in Kobani that previously helped save tens of thousands of Yazidis in Iraq.

Turkey, whose parliament voted last week to authorize strikes in Iraq and Syria, still has not aided the Syrian Kurds because of their ties to the PKK, a group that both Ankara and Washington have designated as a terrorist organization.

Hsieh noted that the U.S. military and its allies are largely using bases in the Persian Gulf to strike ISIL in Iraq and Syria, meaning their planes have to cover longer distances and must spend more time refueling than if they had bases in Iraq. Operating from Iraq would likely require more U.S. troops on the ground to secure the bases.

isilartilleryNavy officials have said they are relying on ships and aircraft that are already in the region and do not plan on deploying another carrier due to the limited nature of the strikes. Those limitations could be contributing to the inability so far of the airstrikes to uproot ISIL from its positions, Hsieh argued.

“That just shows you how not seriously they’re taking this,” he said.

U.S. forces also used Apache AH-64 attack helicopters for the first time over the weekend to strike ISIL militants near Fallujah. Helicopters are more vulnerable to small arms fire and missiles than warplanes.

“[The Obama administration’s] sort of doing this slow-motion escalation,” Hsieh said. “I don’t know if they’re thinking all this through.”

Commander Elissa Smith, a Pentagon spokeswoman, defended the Obama administration’s strategy against ISIL in an emailed statement.

“Our airstrikes have been effective in achieving our goal of degrading and ultimately destroying ISIL,” she said. “It is important to remember that this is a long campaign, and we have been clear that it will take time to roll ISIL back.”

Smith added that there will soon be about 1,600 military personnel in Iraq, but “the Defense Department has said that there won’t be any ground combat forces and we don’t comment on future operations.”

However, some analysts say Obama’s strategy still does not match his stated goal of eliminating ISIL.

Michael Rubin, resident scholar at the American Enterprise Institute and a former Pentagon adviser on Iran and Iraq during the George W. Bush administration, said in an email that the United States’ current anti-ISIL efforts are “long on symbolism and short on substance.”

“To avoid targeting ISIL forces attacking Kobani is like Franklin Delano Roosevelt declaring war on Japan, and then concentrating the American attacks on Argentina,” Rubin said. “What we have is war as a neighborhood organizer would fight it, not as anyone who knows anything about the military or the Middle East or simply the real world would advise.”

Veils Cast Over Truth – Terror, 'Khorosan' and Islam

By Scott W. Winchell and Denise Simon

What’s in a name? No! We are not discussing the rose, rather Islam. More specifically, who “IS” the “Khorosan Group?” Invent a name, hide the past. That is what resulted from an aide referring to the location this group from al Qaeda in Afghanistan came from sources tell us. Conveniently affording Obama and team a veil to cover the truth.

ISIL is not Islamic. No religion condones the killing of innocents, and the vast majority of ISIL’s victims have been Muslim.”

This now famous utterance by President Obama prior to 9/11/14 was assailed immediately by a large swath of experts and the alternative media here in the blogosphere.

Of course, that statement is just another manifestation of his penchant for deceiving the country to achieve his political ends.khurasan

Tell them some big grandiose tales with fervor and the masses will believe.

Tell the world that al Qaeda is decimated and on the run, the masses will cheer. Of course he said that to get reelected in 2012. It worked, but now we are paying for it.

On just two points, we can sum up Obama’s presidency – Islam is peaceful and al Qaeda is decimated! Both are blatantly untrue and we and many others have demonstrated this for years.

Think about it, change the name, you change the perspective, therefore you win in the political sphere.

The left is famous for labeling and redefining words, so why not call al Qaeda a new name as they emerge as a very clear and present danger again.

But it is actually worse when it comes to saying ISIS (Da’esh) is not Islamic. If that is true, then what are the people who make up the other evil forces emanating from Islam? Let’s mention just a few:

Hamas, Hezbollah, Lashkar-e-Taiba, Haqqani Network, Jumat al Fukra, al Aksa Martyr’s Brigade, Ansar al Sharia, al Shabaab, Boko Haram, Jabhat al Nusra, PLO, Moro Islamic Liberation Front, Abu Sayyaf, Jemaah Islamiyah, Uyghurs, Tamil Eelam, Kumpulan Mujahidin Malaysia, Jama’atul Mujahideen, Harkat-ul-Jihad-al Islami, Abu Nidal Organization,Gama’a al-Islamiyya, Palestine Liberation Front, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine PFLP, Revolutionary Organization 17 November, Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan, Jaish-e-Mohammed, Asbat al-Ansar, Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, Ansar al-Islam, Libyan Islamic Fighting Group, Islamic Jihad Group, Tehrik-e Taliban, Jundallah, Army of Islam, Indian Mujahidin, Jemaah Anshorut Tawhid, Abdallah Azzam Brigades, Ansar al-Dine, Ansaru, al-Mulathamun Battalion, Ansar al-Shari’a in Benghazi, Ansar al-Shari’a in Darnah, Ansar al-Shari’a in Tunisia, AQAP, Dhamaat Houmet Daawa Salafia, Morroccan Islamic Combatant Group, Salafiya Jihadia, Jama’a Comattante Tunisenne, al Ittihad al Islami, East Turkistan Ilsamic Movement, Sipah i Sahaba, Lashar e Jhangvi, Al Ghurabaa, Al Ittihad al Islamia, Ansar al Sunna, Ansar Bayt al Maqdis, Baluchistan Liberation Army, Hezb E Islami Gulbuddin, Imarat Kavkaz (Caucasus Emirate), Chechen militants, and let us not forget, the Muslim Brotherhood…

Notice any similarities? Yes, we thought you would – all are Islamic. This list is not even close to all that could be mentioned, but you get the point, Obama made a very disingenuous statement.

The question is, how many of these are al Qaeda affiliates or off-shoots? How many were created since 2009, or after Osama bin Laden was killed? Again, you get the point, Obama is misleading you for political cover or gain. You live in either Dar al-Harb, or Dar al-Islam – the land of war, or the land of Islam.

Our own State Department and Counter-terrorism Centers list most of these, and they far out number any other terrorist organizations like the Irish Republican Army, Japan’s Aum Shinrikyo, and FARC in Columbia. Terrorism is indeed a trademark of Islam. There are many people tracking these groups and many more. See also here, and here at Jihad Watch.

behead_islamAnother point we want to emphasize is that al Qaeda comes in many names, some they assigned to themselves, others that were assigned by the west – why? Because there are political games played right in front of your eyes – like the Khorosan Group!

Yes, Obama and team gave al Qaeda a new name so you would not notice that his boasts and football spiking were all dishonest and self-serving.

Al Qaeda is bigger and stronger than ever – but these are just names that are all one thing – Islamic Jihadism, fundamental Islam carried out as proscribed by their prophet, fanatically. Muhammad would approve, especially the beheading parts!

Now ask, who is supporting all of them – think in large measure, Qatar, Turkey, Russia, Iran, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia… the Muslim Brotherhood.

Let’s also consider another aspect, if it isn’t Islam, what is it? In your own words Mr. President, you tell us that Muslims die in far greater numbers at the hands of these evil doers. There is a reason for that, it is called apostasy. In Islam, by order, you are all in or you are an apostate. That brings us to another point; all these groups come from Islamic nations.

The Pew Research Center tells us there are 49 countries with Muslim majorities, with Nigeria about to become the 50th, but that was a number from 2011, so Nigeria may already qualify.

The Muslim world is over 24% of the Earth’s population, or almost 1.7 billion people and stretches from Morocco to Indonesia, so do all the groups listed above. The Muslim footprint grows daily and many countries’ indigenous peoples will soon become minorities in the west.

One large final question to ask, what are mosques in the West delivering in their sermons that fighters from the West are joining al Qaeda against the West.

ObamaUnApology2
Obama speaks before the UN General Assembly – and again apologizes for America, and Ferguson, really Mr. President?

The always insightful Andy McCarthy drives these points home:

We’re being had. Again.

For six years, President Obama has endeavored to will the country into accepting two pillars of his alternative national-security reality. First, he claims to have dealt decisively with the terrorist threat, rendering it a disparate series of ragtag jayvees.

Second, he asserts that the threat is unrelated to Islam, which is innately peaceful, moderate, and opposed to the wanton “violent extremists” who purport to act in its name.

Now, the president has been compelled to act against a jihad that has neither ended nor been “decimated.” The jihad, in fact, has inevitably intensified under his counterfactual worldview, which holds that empowering Islamic supremacists is the path to security and stability.

Yet even as war intensifies in Iraq and Syria — even as jihadists continue advancing, continue killing and capturing hapless opposition forces on the ground despite Obama’s futile air raids — the president won’t let go of the charade.

Hence, Obama gives us the Khorosan Group. The who?

There is a reason that no one had heard of such a group until a nanosecond ago, when the “Khorosan Group” suddenly went from anonymity to the “imminent threat” that became the rationale for an emergency air war there was supposedly no time to ask Congress to authorize. (Read the rest here.)

We agree with Andy – we were sold a bill of goods again!

Bulletin: Imminent Jihadist Threat on Southern Border

Editor’s Note – Just yesterday, our president told the world he had no plan for ISIS/ISIL/IS in Syria and soon after Josh Earnest was walking a fine line in trying to clarify why the leader of the free world has no plan, we don’t have a strategy yet,” largely blaming the media for not interpreting his words correctly.

Of course, the press just reported what he actually said.TERRORISTS

Then we learned the PM Cameron of the UK acknowledged that MI5 had raised the threat level to ‘severe’ for the first time since 2010, but Obama and our federal departments would not.

In fact, in the last few days the words spoken by Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs General Martin Dempsey warning America of the severity of the threat was also walked back.

Then we learn from the new de facto truth department at Judicial Watch that we have a real and credible threat on our southern border by ISIS.

The chatter is now loud and emanating from many different and reliable sources that it is true that Commanding General of the 1st Armored Division and Fort Bliss, Major General Stephen M. Twitty, has been briefed today by the CIA, on a credible threat against the US by ISIS.

Once again, the words uttered by the administration are unclear, befuddled, unreliable, and often downright wrong. Why? Can we no longer trust anything coming from the White House anymore? Just over a month ago, another General was sounding the alarm:

The general in charge of U.S. Southern Command says America’s porous southern border poses as much a threat as any foreign power, with gangs and terrorist groups hiding among the tidal wave of illegals.

If Marine Corps Gen. John Kelly, commander of the U.S. Southern Command, keeps warning about the crisis at our southern border, he may soon join the long list of generals and admirals sacked by this administration as it decimates the military.

“In comparison to other global threats, the near collapse of societies in the hemisphere with the associated drug and (undocumented immigrant) flow are frequently viewed to be of low importance,” Kelly told Defense One, a website focused on national security issues. “Many argue these threats are not existential and do not challenge our national security. I disagree.” (Read the rest here.)

Of course, many of us have confirmed the presence of jihadists crossing the border for ages, yet the Obama Administration cannot utter the words – Jihadist threat. Please read on about this breaking news:

Judicial Watch: Feds’ Bulletin Describes Threat of Imminent Terrorist Attack on Southern Border

For those of us who’ve been raising alarms about both the jihadist threat and the national-security vulnerability created by the Obama administration’s non-enforcement of the immigration laws, this is not a surprise — particularly less than two weeks before September 11. But it is nonetheless jarring to read. Judicial Watch has just put out this statement:ISIS Flag over WH

Islamic terrorist groups are operating in the Mexican border city of Ciudad Juarez and planning to attack the United States with car bombs or other vehicle born improvised explosive devices (VBIED). High-level federal law enforcement, intelligence and other sources have confirmed to Judicial Watch that a warning bulletin for an imminent terrorist attack on the border has been issued.

Agents across a number of Homeland Security, Justice and Defense agencies have all been placed on alert and instructed to aggressively work all possible leads and sources concerning this imminent terrorist threat.

Specifically, Judicial Watch sources reveal that the militant group Islamic State of Iraq and Greater Syria (ISIS) is confirmed to now be operating in Juarez, a famously crime-infested narcotics hotbed situated across from El Paso, Texas. Violent crimes are so rampant in Juarez that the U.S. State Department has issued a number of travel warnings for anyone planning to go there. The last one was issued just a few days ago.

Intelligence officials have picked up radio talk and chatter indicating that the terrorist groups are going to “carry out an attack on the border,” according to one JW source.  “It’s coming very soon,” according to this high-level source, who clearly identified the groups planning the plots as “ISIS and Al Qaeda.”

An attack is so imminent that the commanding general at Ft. Bliss, the U.S. Army post in El Paso, is being briefed, another source confirms.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) did not respond to multiple inquiries from Judicial Watch, both telephonic and in writing, about this information.

The disturbing inside intelligence comes on the heels of news reports revealing that U.S. intelligence has picked up increased chatter among Islamist terror networks approaching the 13th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. While these terrorists reportedly plan their attack just outside the U.S., President Obama admits that “we don’t have a strategy yet” to combat ISIS.

“I don’t want to put the cart before the horse,” the commander-in-chief said this week during a White House press briefing. “I think what I’ve seen in some of the news reports suggest that folks are getting a little further ahead of what we’re at than what we currently are.”

The administration has also covered up, or at the very least downplayed, a serious epidemic of crime along the Mexican border even as heavily armed drug cartels have taken over portions of the region. Judicial Watch has reported that the U.S. Border Patrol actually ordered officers to avoid the most crime-infested stretches because they’re “too dangerous” and patrolling them could result in an “international incident” of cross border shooting.

In the meantime, who could forget the famous words of Obama’s first Homeland Security Secretary, Janet Napolitano; the southern border is “as secure as it has ever been.”

These new revelations are bound to impact the current debate about the border crisis and immigration policy.
