'Collapse of America' or the 'Republic Reclaimed' – Stand Up & Decide

Yes America, we are still on suicide watch over this great country as re-election victory scenarios are developed and employed to ensure Barrack Obama and his Progressive Socialist supporters, radical union thugs, Chicago cut-throat operators, and ardent admirers win in November at any cost.  We must understand that they have an “agenda”, and it’s not an agenda whose priority is America as we know it. They are following that ‘agenda’ closely, on all fronts, foreign and domestic, all portending the further deterioration of our country, its decline on the world stage, and its impact on the constitution.

After my recent visit to Europe, Turkey, and the Syrian border area, I was embarrassed to find a total lack of respect and trust of the United States government. I took pains to ensure those I met that America is not monolithic as a people; rather, we are a nation in the throes of an identity crisis of our own. I explained that we are a nation whose present government has deeply divided us, and that as a people, we strive to re-earn their respect – to help them in their journey as we proceed along ours as we have done for generations.

Despite these divisions, I am encouraged. I am finally sensing that Americans are starting to wake up and the winds of a new revolution are swirling to save the country. We are at a crossroads to right our own ship, and to help those who strive for freedom from tyranny as we have done so often in the American century past, and the goal of another American century today. But we must do something now, each of us, to release ourselves from the grasp of those who wish to continue down this path of ignominy.

If we act now, in a decisive way, with our voices unified, I predict Obama’s defeat. He will continue to fall in credibility and Romney will win in a landslide barring any ‘shenanigans’. Therefore the challenge before us is: “what are we citizens to do as the nation continues to decline in power, its financial stability faltering, its culture and morals in free fall, and the security of its people in jeopardy”? What do we do to ensure a victory and get on a the path to reclaim our Republic?

In November, we have this historic opportunity. Mr. Obama, the great reader/orator, continues to show his socialist and deceptive agenda of spending the American peoples’ money first and misleading our country down a path of continual destruction instead of curtailing the cancerous cause of over-spending, rabid regulations, and class warfare. Their “do or say anything” methodology means we must be must be alert. We must be quick to respond to each and every attempt to mislead, demagogue, twist facts, lay blame, cast aspersions, assassinate the character of others, and point out the obvious, outright lies from Obama and Biden, along with their surrogates. He only has an abysmal record to run on, so the mud will be flying.

Mr. Obama’s only identifiable skill is campaigning and this week he will have the grand stage at the Democratic National Convention. There he will be on his best ground, amongst his adoring sycophants; the very place he shines best. There will also be the cacophony of the complicit media; supporting his agenda, his mischaracterizations, his ‘cult of personality’.

He will continue to promote his great “heroism” in taking out Osama Bin Laden but may well execute a rumored “October Surprise” (possibly in the Middle East, or a contrived event at home, all to try and snatch the election). Our OPSEC “Dishonorable Disclosures” documentary has been very effective in getting out the word about National Security leaks coming out of his administration and placing American lives in jeopardy.

Obama and his amateur political cronies must be replaced. We need the people to stand up and make sure this happens. The economy is severely fragile and the feasting at the government trough is at an all-time high. The main stream media sees the obvious political advantage Obama seeks but appear to be clueless on the realities of the moment.  Obama and company choose to make a mockery of our system, again and again. All the while, Obama still places blame on Bush, the Congress as if it was a monolithic block, the private sector, and others for his dereliction of duty and lack of leadership seeking re-election and not working to fix America.

Meanwhile, the Muslim Brotherhood, Iran, and the perverted radical Islamists here and abroad are playing out their moves on the Chessboard very judiciously, seeking the domino effect of radical Islam, the caliphate, and Jihad.  The United States finds itself languishing in a ‘Sea of Ambiguity’ because of a lack of vision, wisdom, common sense, and courage of our elected and appointed leaders, or more dangerously, they have a clear agenda to do harm. We have a President in the White House, A National Security Council, and State Department under Hillary Clinton, and the Defense Department that seem to be as “clueless” as ever in forward strategic thinking. It is time to drain the swamp.

This is the current battle that we Constitutionalists face and we must be aggressive in our efforts, as we adhere to our Constitution ourselves. If re-elected, Obama and the people in his progressive agenda will continue to bypass Congress because that is who he is and that is what he believes he has the power to do. He will do so with an unfettered hand, without fear, because he and the left, along with the media, will declare a mandate if re-elected.

Now it is time to shake off this power grab. It is time change the people within this government – because they are not doing the job we hired them to do. When an employee is inept, unsuccessful, and failing in his duties, he must be replaced. When he is doing worse, tearing down the very foundations that created the job he holds, replacement is just the beginning. The job has just begun – it is then time to rebuild that which has been torn down.

Lincoln issued this warning in his first inaugural address:

“Any people anywhere, being inclined and having the power, have the right to rise up and shake off the existing government and form a new one. This is a most valuable and sacred right – a right which we hope and believe is to liberate the world.”

We are a representative republic; not a democracy, where “rising up” means other than revolution by use of arms; the people must “rise up” now. (Stand Up as we say) We must educate ourselves and others, and vote from a knowledgeable, informed base; a base that is not reliant on personality, but the skills of the employee. We must rise from the grass roots across this great country as we think of the greater good of this and future generations.

We must make it a local and State imperative; a now or never movement –  “Of the People… By the People… and For the People.”

The Obama White House and identifiable Members of Congress are now on a treasonous death march and are bankrupting the country beyond expectations. We have watched them violate their sacred oaths of office. This means raising your voice now to your neighbors, family, co-workers, and friends. Grass roots efforts have begun; we were successful in 2010, but it is now time to put this effort into over drive. America, stand tall together and we will weather the storm – but we must act now!

“We, the People” have had enough.

"Pipe Down" – Legal threats to the active and retired

Editor’s Note – With all the furor over the “Dishonorable Disclosures” video created by OPSECteam.org, a new book is due for release on September 11, 2012 that purports to tell the inside story of the Osama bin Laden raid. We do not know the tenor of the book but leaks of classified material have really caused a lot of harm to date, and Americans of all stripes are ‘piping hot’ mad, especially over the politicization of the events.

Now this book is raising a lot of eye brows because contents were not vetted by the Pentagon, which is a required procedure. Penguine Group, the publisher has/had an obligation to submit the transcripts to the Department of Defense for approval.

What else can, or perhaps should be said is, the author, writing under a pseudonym until some in the media revealed his identity, which SUA will not, has likely taken a hit for the team. A possible effort to reveal some real truths of the Osama bin Laden event, perhaps as a countermeasure to the “Zero Dark 30” movie being released this Fall that gives glory to the White House.

From Yahoo News:

The former Navy SEAL who penned a firsthand account of the mission to kill Osama bin Laden did so without the permission of the U.S. government, officials said, and is now at the center of an ongoing controversy within the secretive special operations community over unauthorized disclosures.

The author of the book, who writes under the pseudonym Mark Owen, was a SEAL Team Six team leader during the mission that took out the al Qaeda leader and was “one of the first men through the door on the third floor of the terrorist leader’s hideout,” according to a statement from the book’s publisher, Dutton.

The Pentagon is awaiting a copy of the book to determine if it does contain material not suitable for publication. It appears they will likely find a lot to be concerned over, but we cannot know that at this time.

Leaks have already been many, and the determination of who leaked them is unknown, but the White House has been implicated. In response to these leaks and the political picture it painted, many retired CIA Agents, Navy Seals, and military command staff produced the video mentioned above. Naturally, there is a lot of consternation and many negative responses by supporters of the President, and by the President himself.

Recently, the man who made the real “gutsy call“, Admiral William McRaven, was refferred to as a General by President Obama about his ‘reverence’ for the Special Operations troops after being questioned about the OPSEC video:

… Obama’s slip in an interview with KSDK in St Louis, Missouri when he was asked about the new 22-minute film ‘Dishonorable Disclosures’ by a group of former Special Forces troops and intelligence operatives.

‘I won’t take this film too seriously,’ he responded. ‘I gather that one of the producers is a birther who still doesn’t think I was born in this country.

[…]

‘I’d advise that you talk to General McRaven, who’s in charge of our Special Ops. I think he has a point of view in terms of how deeply I care about what these folks do each and every day to protect our freedom.’

The difficulty with this is that William McRaven is and admiral not a general. As a SEAL, he is member of the US Navy, not US Army or US Marines.

For servicemen, ranks are important – they have worked hard and, in many cases, risked their lives, to earn them. And it’s one thing to omit a rank and another to botch the rank of the highest-ranking Special Forces operator in the country. (Read the rest here.)

Despite that error, Admiral McRaven is showing leadership, much as he so well managed the bin Laden raid, by telling his troops to “pipe down” and threatening legal action.

SUA is not sure of the scope, but the Pentagon is threatening legal action if secrets were revealed in the new book, but this may also be a veiled threat to others:

McRaven tells troops to pipe down

Special operations chief Adm. Bill McRaven warned his troops, current and former, that he would take legal action against anyone found to have exposed sensitive information that could cause fellow forces harm.

By KIMBERLY DOZIER – AP Intelligence Writer – in the Seattle Times

Special operations chief Adm. Bill McRaven warned his troops, current and former, that he would take legal action against anyone found to have exposed sensitive information that could cause fellow forces harm.

Admiral William McRaven

“We will pursue every option available to hold members accountable, including criminal prosecution where appropriate,” the four-star commander wrote, in an open, unclassified letter emailed to the active-duty special operations community Thursday, and obtained by The Associated Press.

The warning came a day after a retired Navy commando revealed he is publishing a first-hand account of the raid that killed Osama bin Laden. Pentagon officials say they have not been given a chance to review the book, but Pentagon spokesman George Little said Friday officials expect to receive a copy “very shortly.”

Little said the Pentagon will decide whether to take any action against the author once officials review the book’s contents to determine whether it includes classified information. He said the Department of Justice would have the lead role if any legal action were to be taken.

It also follows a media campaign by special operations veterans, decrying alleged leaks by President Barack Obama’s administration of secret operations, and criticizing Obama’s highlighting the raid as part of his reelection campaign.

McRaven also took former special operators to task for “using their `celebrity’ status to advance their personal or professional agendas.”

He acknowledged that former service members are “well within their rights to advocate for certain causes or write books about their adventures,” but he cautioned them against claiming to speak for all special operations troops and against endangering troops by what they write.

News broke Wednesday that one of the SEALs McRaven commanded on the bin Laden raid would be releasing his book, “No Easy Day,” on Sept. 11, with the author listed under the pseudonym of Mark Owen.

The author was identified Thursday by Fox News as Matt Bissonnette, who left the Navy last summer.

One current and one former U.S. military official confirmed the name, speaking on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss military personnel matters.

Penguin Group (USA)’s Dutton imprint, the publisher, asked news organizations Thursday to withhold his identity.

“Sharing the true story of his personal experience in `No Easy Day’ is a courageous act in the face of obvious risks to his personal security,” Dutton spokeswoman Christine Ball said in a statement. “That personal security is the sole reason the book is being published under a pseudonym.”

Bissonnette also changed the names of the other SEALs in the account, the publisher says.

Al-Qaida sympathizers posted photos of Bissonnette on jihadist web forums and called for his killing in retaliation for bin Laden’s death.

“First picture of one of the dogs who killed the martyr Sheik Osama bin Laden,” reads one posting, with a photo that has circulated in Western media said to be Bissonette, crouching with an automatic weapon. “We ask almighty God to destroy him sooner or later,” it reads.

The posting Friday was by a militant sympathizer who goes by the username “The Sniper of the Arabian Peninsula,” who often posts on such websites but whose identity is not known.

Efforts to locate Bissonnette for comment were unsuccessful.

McRaven’s plea for discretion comes as a number of special operators publish memoirs or appear in the media.

Best seller “American Sniper,” was published this year by former SEAL Chris Kyle, detailing his 150-plus kills of insurgents from 1999 to 2009.

Many of the special operations advocacy groups that are critical of Obama also openly identify members. One of the groups is run by retired Navy SEAL Ryan Zinke, who touts his time years ago at SEAL Team 6, the top secret unit that carried out the bin Laden raid.

Even Special Operations Command made an exception to its normal reticence with the media when it signed off on this year’s movie “Act of Valor,” which followed active duty SEALs carrying out training exercises that were turned into what looked like real action scenes for the film.

McRaven wrote that there was a difference between “Act of Valor”, which was approved by the command as a recruiting tool, and some of the other recent publications.

“There is, in my opinion, a distinct line between recounting a story for…education or entertainment and telling a story that exposes sensitive activities just to garner greater readership and personal profit,” he wrote.

The author of “No Easy Day” is slated to appear on the CBS News program “60 Minutes” on Sept. 9th.

Expecting a major best-seller, Dutton has already increased the initial print run of 300,000 copies to 400,000 copies. “No Easy Day” was No. 1 on Amazon.com as of late Friday morning, displacing the million-selling erotic trilogy “Fifty Shades of Gray.”

The publisher says the author will be donating the majority of the proceeds from the book to charities.

OPSEC Video: “Dishonorable Disclosures”

New Campaign launched by former CIA, Special Operations Members to combat leaks and politicization of National Security Info

Kicks Off Nationwide With Release Of Documentary Short Film Titled “Dishonorable Disclosures”

OPSEC Website: http://www.opsecteam.org/

Former CIA and Special Operations members are announcing the creation of OPSEC, a new nationwide public campaign to combat the spike in leaks and politicization of Intelligence and Special Operations missions that threaten their effectiveness and the safety of Americans who conduct them.  OPSEC – short for Operational Security, meaning to eliminate or reduce the exploitation of critical information — will begin with the release of “Dishonorable Disclosures,” a new documentary short film highlighting the problem from the perspective of those who have served in these critical positions. The film will also serve as the basis for a TV and online advertising effort.

“Intelligence and Special Operations members are angry and frustrated at how our work has been used for political advantage by officials across government, including President Obama himself who bears special responsibility as Commander in Chief,” said Scott Taylor, chairman of OPSEC and a former Navy SEAL.  “We want the American people to understand the cost of these leaks and politicization both on those who serve and on our national security and to hold those in positions of leadership accountable if it doesn’t stop.”

OPSEC is made up of individuals who served their country in the CIA, and Special Operations Forces (SOF) consisting of Navy SEALs, Army Special Forces, Marine Corps and Air Force Special Operations.  It is organized as a 501(c)(4) nonpartisan public education campaign and is independent of any political party or campaign organization.

The campaign will begin with the release of “Dishonorable Disclosures,” a documentary short film that views the impact of the increasing number of leaks on Intelligence and Special Operations missions, tradecraft, tactics and capabilities from the perspective of those who have relied on these tools to carryout similar missions and protect themselves and those they served alongside.  The film will be shown at events in key states across the country over the next several months, including Virginia, Florida, Ohio, Colorado, North Carolina and Nevada.  “Dishonorable Disclosures” can be seen here.

“Countless leaks, interviews and decisions by the Obama Administration and other government officials have undermined the success of our Intelligence and Special Operations forces and put future missions and personnel at risk,” said Fred Rustmann, an OPSEC member and 24-year veteran of the Central Intelligence Agency.  “OPSEC will carry a strong message across the country that it’s time for President Obama and other administration officials to stop jeopardizing national security operations for political gain.”

More information about OPSEC and news about the release of “Dishonorable Disclosures” can be found at http://www.opsecteam.org/.
