WASHINGTON, D.C. – On Sunday, September 2, OPSEC will begin airing its first regional TV ad in the Charlotte, North Carolina, market using footage from Dishonorable Disclosures, the documentary short film that has been viewed nearly 3.3 million times since its release earlier this month.
“The threat to prosecute a five-time winner of the Bronze Star for unauthorized disclosures while senior officials have leaked information about the same raid shows why the Obama Administration must be held accountable for its dishonorable double standard on leaks,” said Scott Taylor, former Navy SEAL and president of OPSEC. “Charlotte is just the start of advertising and screening events in highly visible markets across the country to urge Americans to tell the Obama Administration to stop leaking and politicizing intelligence and Special Operations missions.”
The sixty-second ad is based on Dishonorable Disclosures, a documentary short film released by OPSEC that views the impact of the increasing number of leaks by the Obama Administration on Intelligence and Special Operations missions, tradecraft, tactics and capabilities from the perspective of those who have relied on these tools to carryout similar missions and protect themselves and those they served alongside. Since its release on August 15, Dishonorable Disclosures has been viewed nearly 3.5 million times and tens of thousands of Americans have signed up as fans of the film. Both the ad and the film can be seen at the OPSECYouTube page.
The ad run will begin in Charlotte on Sunday, September 2, during Sunday morning talk shows and news adjacencies and will run through Wednesday on network TV and cable news, including Fox, CNN, and MSNBC.
